Zydeco was one of a series of attempts by the Colonel to create bots that didn’t require instruments to play music. Her steam and blue matter core power a series of complex bellows that are activated by contorting and expending steam strategically, making her essentially a very flexible “living” accordion.
Unfortunately the sheer energy she expends in a single song makes her quite inefficient compared to the other musically-inclined Walter-bots, so the living instrument experiments were eventually abandoned in favor of more traditional musicianship.
